Urgent Needs

LeRoy Piggy is a 13-year-old Vietnamese Pot-bellied piggy who has a seizure disorder, brain tumor, had major abdominal surgery for bloat, going blind, terrible arthritis, can’t walk very well and piggy cognitive dementia. Due to all the medical problems, LeRoy is on very expensive medications. LeRoy has had 2 near death experiences in December 2010 and June 2011. Because of all these problems, LeRoy can no longer live in the barn with Pearl Piggy. He lives in the house with the Gress’s.

Monetary donations are needed to purchase linoleum or luan flooring for a small animal room. Fluffette the adorable Angora rabbit nearly lost her life recently after ingesting some carpet. It will provide a cleaner and safer environment for rabbits, guinea pig, cats and great Pyrenees dogs.

The Gress Mountain Ranch is a forever home for over 40 animals. Many of them come to the ranch with medical needs. Others need care as they age. Many of the medicines and procedures are expensive. Below is a list of some of the special needs for TMGR animals. The ranch and its animals survive only by the generosity of donors. Please consider a donation for one of these animals in need.

Stewie is a loving Nubian goat, a volunteer favorite at the ranch. Unfortunately, it was recently discovered that Stewie has a genetic disease, CAE. This causes pain in his joints. He also has a difficult time keeping weight on. Stewie has already outlived his expected life-span for a goat with CAE. We try to keep him comfortable and feed him regularly so that he doesn’t get too thin. Stewie particularly likes apple sauce, crackers, yams and bananas. He needs shots of B12 and pain suppressants.

Princess is the newest addition to The Gress Mountain Ranch family. She is a brown, fluffy pony that has captured everyone’s heart at the ranch. Kathryn Gress adopted Princess knowing that she had Cushing’s disease, a tumor on her pituitary gland. Cushing’s is a manageable disease, but requires expensive medication. Princess can still lead a long and healthy life and we hope she will be with us for a long time.
