LORETTA WAS SPOTLIGHT VOLUNTEER FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE 2006. This is a picture of Loretta, petting Elliot, a Maine Coon cat.  Elliot just loves the attention, and Loretta knows this cat is special.  He has a brain tumor, a history of gastric ulcer and a seizure disorder.   Loretta just loves to caress Elliot, which makes him really feel good, and Elliot responses back with loving affection for Loretta.

Meet Loretta Brobst,
Loretta has been coming to The Gress Mountain Ranch for over 7 years.  She has bonded with our first psychiatric service dog, Brutus, who won her heart as soon as she met him.   They have been inseparable, and visited and care for each other, when they were sick and in the hospital.   Loretta  has also been Kathryn's guest speaker at many of her presentations about Animal-
Assisted Therapy.  Loretta's heartfelt story is like a magnet, and you are immediately drawn in to Loretta.  She is easy going, and has done multitasking and shows how "fun" it can be.  While many of the volunteers work with the animals, Loretta, takes on the task of "office maintenance" such as filing, correcting written stories for publication, answering the phone to name a few.  She also has actively participated in many of the parades, the Gress Mountain Ranch, farm tour, the animal benefit, and many other activities.  Loretta, is a great gal and easily makes the other people around her feel "comfortable" and accepted.  Loretta, can easily talk with all people, as she is a "people/animal" person.   Her stories of her life with Animal-Assisted Therapy are meaningful and really hit home for many people.  Loretta, "you are a natural", and we appreciate all you do for the people & animals of The Gress Mountain Ranch.  Loretta, has been in many publications, articles, and she, Brutus, and her story featured in a "therapy book."  Loretta is an inspiration to us all, like Brutus.  She has a several occasions came to our events, and may have only recently got out of the hospital.   Amazing Loretta, Kudos to you!
